Former British tennis number one has claimed Andy Murray could win Wimbledon this year.
In an interview for Scotland Tonight the former tennis ace turned TV presenter spoke about the Scot’s chances of becoming the first British player to reach the tournament’s final in 74 years.
On Friday the Dunblane-born 25-year-old faces Jo-Wilfried Tsonga for a place in the final, with Murray holding a 5-1 lead over the Frenchman in head-to-head contests.
Ahead of the match, Mr Castle told STV that a "sense of anticipation" was building around Murray’s chances of success, with this being his fourth semi-final placing in a row.
He added: "The guy is relaxed, he’s in control of his game and most importantly he’s in control of his emotions."
Murray could become the first UK player to feature in a final on the hallowed Centre Court at the All-England Club since Bunny Austin achieved the feat in 1938. Fred Perry was the last British man to win a Grand Slam singles title with victory at the US Open in 1936, while he was also the last to win Wimbledon the same year.
