A woman has been attacked by two teenagers while out jogging in a Borders town.
The 22-year-old was running on Huddersfield Street in Galashiels when she was approached by two boys at around 8.15pm on Wednesday.
They attempted to rob her mobile phone but she managed to hold on to it, before running away.
The woman did not sustain any injuries.
Lothian and Borders Police are now appealing for any witnesses to the incident, which they said was “disturbing”.
The teenagers are described as aged between 15 and 16 years old, one around 5ft 7ins with dark wavy hair and wearing a dark blue hooded top, dark blue jogging bottoms and white trainers and the other with dark hair and wearing a black jacket with dark bottoms.
The incident happened at the same time as the Braw Lad’s Gathering celebrations, which sees thousands of people flock to the town centre for an annual fancy dress parade.
Anyone with any information should contact police on 0131 311 3131 or through Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
