The red carpet is being rolled out for the opening film of the Edinburgh International Film Festival.
Killer Joe, directed by William Friedkin, will open the event with a host of stars expected to attend on Wednesday.
The film tells the story of a young man who, along with his father and step-mother, plots to kill his mother for the insurance money.
Over 11 days, 121 new films from 52 countries will be shown as part of the event.
The closing screening will see the European premier of the Disney/Pixar film Brave, which had its world premier in LA on Monday.
The festival runs from June 20 to July 1 at various locations around the capital.
