Scottish ministers are to hold five cabinet meetings across the nation during the summer recess.
The move follows a similar programme of meetings last summer when the ministers met in Dumfries, Inverness, Pitlochry and Skye.
This summer's meetings will begin in Dundee next week and end with a session in Glasgow on September 1. In between, ministers will meet in Melrose, Stornoway and Aberdeen.
As well as formal cabinet meetings, ministers will hold "national conversation" public meetings and carry out other public engagements. Each visit will run for two days.
First Minister Alex Salmond said: "It is vital that we take government to the heart of our communities, discussing a range of issues - local and national - with members of the public right across Scotland.
"That is even more important this year, as we work together to fight recession."
The list of meetings includes:
June 29-30 – Dundee, Abertay University
June 27-28 – Melrose, Melrose Rugby Club
August 3-4 – Stornoway, Lews Castle College (University of Highlands and Islands)
August 17-18 – Aberdeen, Aberdeen University
August 31-September 1 – Glasgow, Molendinar Community Centre.
