April 28, 1998

Arlene Fraser goes missing after sending her children to school.

Grampian Police admit they are “baffled” by her disappearance and launch a major search for the mother-of-two.

October 27, 1998

The senior detective on the case admits he believes Arlene is dead stating that there is no evidence she is still alive.

October 1, 1999

Crown Office confirms an indictment as been served on Arlene’s husband, Nat Fraser.

March 1, 2000

Nat Fraser is jailed for 18 months for an earlier assault on Arlene. Fraser admitted chocking his wife to the danger of her life.

April 2001

Nat Fraser is jailed for Legal Aid Fraud.

April 26, 2002

Three men are indicted for Arlene’s murder - Nat Fraser, his friend Hector Dick and businessman Glenn Lucas. All three are charged with conspiring to murder Arlene, murdering her and attempting to defeat the ends of justice.

January 7, 2003

The trial of the three men begins and the jury is told she disappeared the day she was due to consult with a solicitor about a divorce.

January 29, 2003

Nat Fraser is found guilty of murdering Arlene and he is sentenced to life in prison.

Mr Lucas was found not guilty while charges against Hector Dick were dropped after he became a Crown witness.

May 6, 2005

Nat Fraser is allowed to appeal his conviction.

May 6, 2008

Nat Fraser loses his appeal.

October 3, 2008

Nat Fraser announces intention to ask Court of Criminal Appeal if he can appeal to Privy Court.

March 24, 2009

Court of Criminal Appeal judges refuse bid to appeal to Privy Council in London.

May 31, 2010

Nat Fraser challenges his conviction at the Supreme Court.

May 25, 2011

Nat Fraser wins appeal and has his conviction quashed.

April 23, 2012

Nat Fraser is put on trial accused of the murder of his wife for a second time.

May 30, 2012

Nat Fraser is found guilty of murdering Arlene in 1998.

October 3, 2012

Nat Fraser is told a fresh appeal in Arlene murder case would be "waste of time" by appeals judge Lady Dorrian.

October 25, 2012

Three appeals judges review Lady Dorrian's decision and conclude the case should be decided at a full hearing of the Court of Criminal Appeal in Edinburgh.
