Police are investigating the death of a man in Forfar two days after the drugs related death of a woman.

The body of the 49-year-old was found at a Forfar flat at West High Street on Thursday morning.

The man’s identity has not yet been revealed and it is not yet known if the death is drugs related.

A spokeswoman for Tayside Police said the death was being treated as unexplained and a report had been sent to the procurator fiscal.

It follows the discovery of Lisa Deveres' body at an address in Forfar on Tuesday evening. The 31-year-old died from, died because of a drugs overdose.

Senior Investigating Officer, DI Jim Smith confirmed that although there are no apparent suspicious circumstances, a report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal.

Ms Deveres’ death has sparked a warning from police and health experts to drug users over the risks of using illicit substances.
