With Hampden a sell out for Saturday’s Scottish Cup Final between Edinburgh rivals Hearts and Hibs – there is one seat left to fill.
It is still unknown who will be in the drivers seat on Sunday to steer the winning team along their parade route but the options have been narrowed down to two.
Hearts supporter, Shine Tome Varghese will drive the bus if his team through the west of the city if they win and if Hibernian lift the cup then Easter Road fan Rod Matheson will be behind the wheel through the streets of north Edinburgh.
The pair have been selected from the Lothian Buses ballot to win the sought after shift.
Mr Varghese from Gilmerton said: "It has without a doubt been one of the most sought after shifts for the drivers, never have I seen so many battle it out to work.
“It will be such an honour and there will be thousands of people on the streets of Edinburgh trying to get a glimpse of the team with the cup.
“When they won it in 2006, the city centre almost came to a standstill and people still talk about it yet."
Rod Matheson, from Stenhouse has been a Lothian Buses driver for seven years, he said: "It is the biggest game in history since 1896, and I've got everything crossed for Saturday.
“To be driving the bus if Hibs win is a once in a lifetime opportunity, and I cannot wait.
“All the Hibs fans at Lothian Buses have everything crossed, it's going to be a great weekend, and hopefully the game will be the highlight of the Scottish football season."
