Gail Sheridan has said she will continue to fight for her area after she narrowly missed out on election to Glasgow City Council.
Mrs Sheridan, the wife of former MSP Tommy Sheridan, said she was happy after finishing fifth behind Matt Kerr (Labour), Alistair Watson (Labour), Iris Gibson (SNP) and Jim Torrance (SNP) in the Craigton ward of the city.
Mrs Sheridan told STV News: "You have to buy a ticket to win the raffle.
"I’m very pleased to take 5th place. I have just been told I narrowly missed it at the 11th stage.
"The big parties are taking the votes today. I have beat the Tories, beat the Liberals, I have beat the Green Party. Nothing will change for me.
"I will go back to my normal campaigning, fighting, as a member of the community council for an area that I live in and love."
Asked if she will fight in future elections, she said: "Perhaps. The next one is in five years, so that will give me a good time to think about it."
