Billions of pounds are set to be put into more than 80 large-scale projects across Scotland in a bid to boost jobs and stimulate the economy, the Scottish Government has confirmed.
Ministers will this week publish their Infrastructure Investment Plan.
It will outline future investment in key projects across the country.
Infrastructure Secretary Alex Neil said the publication would underline the “urgent and pressing case for substantial new borrowing powers to allow even more investment”.
Mr Neil said: “They are all significant developments that will both boost growth, and deliver a lasting legacy that benefits generations to come.
“All of these projects will signal a clear intent and provide the kind of solid foundations and certainty our construction industry demands.”
Last week, it was reported that the publication is expected to include a plan to upgrade the A9 road to full dual carriageway status by 2025. The road, from Perth to Inverness, has seen many fatal and serious accidents over the years.
