Footage of mysterious lights travelling through the sky has been captured in the skies over Fraserburgh in Aberdeenshire, Scotland.
Local man Martin Forbes recorded the strange scene on his mobile phone after neighbours noticed them in the sky.
At one stage around 16 of the lights were apparent, rising higher in the sky and then disappearing.
Martin said: " I saw some bright orange lights travelling across the sky on the west side heading northerly very slowly across the sky. They didn't make any noise as they travelled and eventually they faded into the distance.
"We did wonder if they were flares or anything like that but they were travelling upwards and flares generally go up and then travel down towards the ground."
Martin's neighbours were the first notice the strange sight and called him and his girlfriend to have a look.
Martin added: "One of them had a pair of binoculars and they said when they looked into the binoculars they could see a bright fiery red surrounded by a ring like it was on fire."
The source of the lights is currently unconfirmed.
