A Moray man dubbed a "clockwork guru" is counting down the minutes to the upcoming Oscars ceremony after playing a key role in Martin Scorsese's blockbuster movie Hugo.
The film has been nominated for 11 Academy Awards, including Best Picture, the highest number in this year's event.
At the House of Automata shop near Kinloss, movie-mania has been building for owners Michael and Maria Start, the only English-speaking automata experts in Europe.
Mr Start acted as a consultant on the blockbuster, Scorsese's first ever children's film.
The success of the project is continuing to have effects and the couple have now been asked to create a special act for Britain's Got Talent.
Fans of the film can see some of the clockwork items used on set close-up with a special exhibition at the Start's shop.
Mr Start said: "It's a really worthy film and I'm really pleased it's going to get a whole new boost and a new audience now.
"Fingers crossed it's going to get an Oscar or two out of it at the end."
