The body of a man has been found on a beach in Aberdeen.
The discovery was made by a member of the public at around midday on Friday.
It is understood police have removed the body from Balmedie beach and forensic officers are searching the area.
Grampian Police confirmed a body had been found but would not give any further details.
The discovery comes as police continue to search for missing Grant Ritchie. The 20-year-old has not been seen since he left a clifftop party he had been at with friends in January.
He disappeared beside cliffs near Cove Rangers football ground after walking home from a night out.
The identity of the man will be released in due course.
