Increasing numbers of micro pigs are being taken into care as celebrities endorse the craze for the mini pet.
The miniature pigs, born the size of a tea cup, have become the must-have pet for celebrities including George Clooney and the Beckhams in recent years.
The celebrity trend means more and more micro pigs are being snapped up at £700-a-time and then abandoned or neglected.
Eight-month-old Randall was taken in by The North East Wildlife & Animal Rescue Centre after a member of the public became concerned about his welfare.
The 11-inch pet was undernourished and suffering from skin problems when he was taken in.
He has now settled in well with his surroundings and is making a full recovery.
