An Aberdeenshire chef has beaten away competition to win a national TV competition to create the country's best recipe.
Chris O'Halloran, head chef at The Green Inn, at Ballater has been crowned champion of Britain's Best Dish.
His chocolate cake dessert with cinnamon ice-cream, rich chocolate sauce and cookies was judged top over the creations of more than 100 chefs from across the country.
The Prince of Wales has sent a personal letter of congratulations to the Royal Deeside chef.
Mr O'Halloran said: "It is a real honour to take this title home to Scotland.
"Being asked to take part in the competition and work along some of the best chefs in the industry has been one of the most challenging, yet fantastic experiences I’ve ever had and I’m completely blown away to be crowned the overall winner.
"I wanted to create a dish that would stand out to the judges. With over 100 chefs taking part, I realised it was important that I made a lasting impression and my recipe for success has certainly worked."
