A wealth of ideas as to how Aberdeen can be revamped in the future have been unveiled.
Aberdeen and Grampian Chamber of Commerce have produced Genius Loci, a new publication with a collection of visions by 20 individuals who live or work in the city.
The idea stemmed from complaints to the chamber that Aberdeen is losing it's distinctive mood and atmosphere to piecemeal development.
Business leaders say it's time to take a positive view and stop complaining about the problems.
"Genius Loci will add some exciting new thoughts and ideas to the debate about what we want our city centre to look like in the future," said Chamber Chief Executive Bob Collier.
"The condition of the city centre is an issue frequently raised by our members. Many businesses bringing clients and potential investors to Aberdeen avoid taking them near the centre because of the poor image it gives of the city.
"This is all about acknowledging the current situation and putting forward some aspirational visions as to how we can bring about positive change."
The document has been prepared as part of the city council's masterplanning process.
Contributors include Sir Maitland Mackie, city retailer John Michie and Aberdeen City Council leader John Stewart.
