Motorcyclist and pillion passenger involved in crash in Stonehaven

A motorcyclist carrying a passenger crashed in Aberdeenshire on Friday morning.

The accident happened at around 9.35am on Friday on the B979 in Stonehaven.

Police Scotland said officers and an ambulance were at the scene near Stonehaven Leisure Centre.

The driver and passenger were taken to hospital and are being treated for serious injuries.

A police spokesman said: “We can advise that the B979 in Stonehaven is currently closed following a one-vehicle collision involving a motorcycle and local diversions are in place.

“The B979 is closed from the roundabout near Stonehaven Leisure Centre to the junction with Netherley Road. The driver and passenger were conveyed to hospital.”
