Firefighters were called to one of Aberdeen’s busiest roads on Thursday morning after a Porsche car caught fire.

Emergency services attended close to the roundabout at the Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre (AECC) at around 7am.

Nearly 15 firefighters tackled the blaze which it is thought was started by an electrical fault.

A spokeswoman for the Grampian Fire and Rescue Service said: “There was a car fire and we had three pump units there.

“One hose reel jet was used to extinguish the blaze.”

Grampian Police said the road had not been closed as a result of the incident.
