CCTV images of two men police want to speak to following a sexual assault in a north-east town have been released.

The incident occurred in the Broadsea area of Fraserburgh on June 10.

A 24-year-old was woman sexually assaulted but did not require hospital treatment. Police said she had been left “shaken” by the incident.

Detective inspector Kevin Goldie said: "We are grateful to those who have come forward following our original public appeal however we are now appealing to the wider community for their assistance in identifying two potential witnesses to the assault.

"We have released these CCTV images in the hope that either the men themselves or someone who recognises them will come forward to us.

"The first man featured in the CCTV images is described as in his thirties, 5'8''-5'10'' tall, stocky build, with very short dark hair. He was wearing blue jeans and a dark blue jacket or a thick dark blue jumper.

"The second man is described as in his thirties, 5'7''-5'9'' tall, average build, with a shaved head. He was wearing a dark waist length jacket and blue jeans.

"This type of incident is extremely rare in Fraserburgh and in Aberdeenshire more generally. Aberdeenshire is among the safest places to live and work in the country and the public can be assured that when incidents like this do occur our officers are dedicated to bringing those responsible to justice."
