Emeli Sandé is planning to round off her solo tour of the UK with her friends and family in the audience after adding a special homecoming gig in the Granite City in April.

Following a successful tour of the country, which includes an impressive three-night stint at the Hammersmith Apollo in London, the singer has announced the perfect curtain call after months on the road with a special performance at the Music Hall on April 19.

The Alford singer, who shot to fame with début album Our Version of Events, has enjoyed an impressive 12 months, with her album recently selling its 1,500,000 copy having been in the UK Top 10 for 50 weeks straight.

Emeli has made impressive waves with her self-penned album and has gone on to have a string of Top 10 singles, including current piano-driven hit Clown.

She also performed at the opening and closing ceremonies for the London 2012 Olympics to critical acclaim.

Emeli said: "I'm very excited as always to be coming back and playing in Aberdeen, but this time will be extra special as we finish the UK tour there.

"It's going to be a night of celebration and fun with family, friends and fans in my hometown and I look forward to seeing you at the show!"

Following her last appearance in the city, where Sandé performed to the gathered crowds at the Olympic Torch Relay in June, the singer will conclude her fledgling year with what looks set to be a sell-out show.

Martin Gallagher, Aberdeen Performing Arts Marketing Officer, said: "We are absolutely thrilled to welcome Emeli back to the Music Hall. Her concert last April was one of our highlights of the year.

"We’re expecting an unprecedented demand for tickets on Friday morning, it will no doubt sell out in record time."

Tickets for the Friday, April 19 show go on sale on Friday, February 8 and can be purchased from Emeli Sandé’s website or the Aberdeen Box Office website. To book by phone, please call 01224 641122.
