Five teenagers expected in court after multiple vehicle thefts

Five teenagers are due to appear in court after three vehicles were stolen in Aberdeen.

The four boys and one girl, aged between 15 and 17, have been charged in connection with the thefts of two VW Golfs and a Landrover Freelander.

Police said a further four stolen vehicles, a BMW520, BMW M5, a Renault Scenic and a BMW X5, have been recovered and enquiries remain ongoing. The vehicles were taken over the past week.

A police spokesman said: “They have also variously been charged with the recovery of stolen property and driving offences.

“The vehicles were taken from locations across the city, including the Westhill and Northfield areas.”

The five are due to appear at Aberdeen Sheriff Court on Friday.
