Police search for missing man last seen at his Aberdeenshire home

Police are anxious to trace a 57-year-old man missing from his home in Aberdeenshire.

Alexander Fleming, also known as Alex or Sandy, was reported missing from his home in Old Meldrum on Monday.

Fleming was last seen in the Old Meldrum area by a family member on Monday.

Sergeant Alun Harries from the local policing team in Ellon said: "We are very keen for Alex to contact us, or alternatively a family member, to confirm that he is safe and well.

"Additionally we appeal to any member of the public who may know where Alex is, or who has seen his vehicle, to contact us as soon as possible."

Alex is described as white, 5ft 8in tall, of proportionate build, with grey receding hair, a grey goatee beard, dark eyebrows, and blue eyes.

Sergeant Harries added: "When last seen he was wearing a navy blue shirt with a thin yellow check, black smart trousers, black shoes and a black waterproof jacket.

"We believe Alex is in possession of his silver Land Rover Freelander 4x4 jeep, with the registration number, SW59 CZS.”
