Bomb disposal experts are travelling to Aberdeenshire after a suspicious device was spotted in the sea.

An Aberdeen Coastguard spokesman said they believed the device was a 30cm long submarine smoke marker.

He said a diver had spotted the device on the seabed at Cullykhan Bay near Pennan, which is located between Banff and Fraserburgh.

Ordnance experts from the Royal Navy are expected to arrive at the scene on Wednesday afternoon.
