Police are attempting to trace a pensioner who has been reported missing from the Moray area.

Rosemary Laing was reported missing from Rothes on Wednesday but has not been spoken to since Tuesday evening.

The 77-year-old is described as being 5ft3 tall, of slim build and has short white/grey hair.

Ms Laing wears spectacles and is possibly wearing a knee length black jacket and trousers.

A statement from Police Scotland said: "At this point we do not require members of the public to assist with police searches however we would ask that residents in the Rothes and wider area check their own sheds, garages or outhouses.

"Officers are concerned for Rosemary's welfare and so anyone who has information that could assist with tracing Rosemary is urged to contact Police Scotland on 101 or 999 in an emergency."

The search is also continuing for 85-year-old Kathleen Edward who was reported missing on Tuesday evening from the nearby Aberlour area, also in Moray.
