The family of a woman who was found dead earlier this week said her death has left a "huge void" in their lives.

Amanda Leiper, 38, was found dead in a flat on Park Road in Aberdeen on Wednesday.

Two women have been arrested in connection with her death and are due to appear in court on Friday.

A family spokesperson said: "Amanda lived in Dundee and moved to Aberdeen about ten years ago. We each have our own special memories of the time we spent with Amanda and we will treasure these forever.

"It is impossible to describe the loss we're feeling at the moment and I don't know if we will ever come to terms with it.

"Amanda's death has left a huge void in our lives that can never be filled.

"She was well known, a friend to many and will be deeply missed by those who knew her. We are grateful to friends and family for their support at this difficult time.”

Mrs Leiper’s body was discovered on Wednesday morning just before 6am.

Detectives have spent the last few days trying to piece together what happened to Mrs Leiper in her final few hours.

Her death is still being treated as unexplained and officers have been searching bushes, bins and drain pipes in an effort to find evidence.

An area at the rear of the flat, containing a communal garden and car park, has been kept off limits to residents since the incident.
