Man, 29, dies in hospital after suffering injury on board supply boat

A man has died on a boat anchored off the coast of Aberdeen.

The 29-year-old man was working on board the E.R. Athina, an offshore supply vessel, when he was injured on Sunday morning.

The man was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary but later died from his injuries.

Grampian Police have said they have launched an investigation into the circumstances of his death.

A spokesman said: “Grampian Police can confirm it is making inquiries into the circumstances of a death at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary.

“Following an incident on Sunday June 10, at a supply vessel anchored about a mile off Aberdeen, a 29-year-old male was injured and conveyed to hospital where he later died.

“Police, and partner agencies, are currently making inquiries into the circumstances of the death and a report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal in due course.”
