A man has admitted stealing a number of graveside ornaments from a cemetery in Peterhead.

Gary Findlay pleaded guilty to stealing a number of vases from the graveyard on Constitution Street when he appeared at Peterhead Sheriff Court on Monday.

Findlay, of Craigewan Crescent, Peterhead, also pled guilty to possessing heroin.

The 44-year-old has been remanded in custody and is due to appear back in court on Thursday, May 31.

The incident, on May 19, was reported to police by a member of the public.
