A man has been arrested following the theft of a “large quantity” of gravestone vases from a Peterhead cemetery.

The alleged incident happened on Saturday May 19 at the cemetery on Constitution Street.

Police officers recovered the graveside vases following a report from a member of the public.

A 44-year-old man has now been arrested in relation to the crime and will appear at Peterhead Sheriff Court on Monday.
