LONDON (Reuters) - Britons are less likely to return goods they buy online compared to those bought on the high street, according to a survey released on Tuesday which said UK consumers are the biggest online shoppers in Europe.
It found more than 60 percent of shoppers are less likely to return their online purchases, although they have an extra right to a seven-day cooling-off period.
The survey carried out by the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills also showed that more than 13 percent of people admit to not being sure of their consumer rights if they shop online.
"We are now Europe's biggest online shoppers, so it's important we all know that most online goods can be returned with no questions asked within seven days," said Consumer Minister Kevin Brennan in a statement.
"We want confident consumers who can assert their rights and get a good deal," he added.
The survey questioned 3,000 shoppers.
