A motorcyclist has died after a crash which caused a 162-mile diversion in the Highlands.
A car and motorbike collided on the A82, three miles west of Spean Bridge, at around 9.30am on Tuesday.
A Northern Constabulary spokesman confirmed that the motorcyclist was seriously injured in the crash and died at the scene.
She said: "No further details are available at present until next of kin have been informed."
A major 162-mile diversion was put in place while the road was closed in both directions for emergency services to clear the scene, close to Fort William.
The road was closed for around four-and-a-half hours and reopened at around 2pm.
The accident is close to the scene of a crash which saw the death of a motorcyclist last week.
Daren Lassey, from Yorkshire, died when his motorbike collided with a Mercedes Sprinter van on the A86 road, seven miles east of Spean Bridge.
The road was closed for 20 hours following the crash last Tuesday.
