The body of a man found in a canal has been identified as a fisherman missing for nearly three weeks in the Highlands.
Edward Porter, also known as Eddy, was reported missing after he went fishing in Inverness on April 11.
A major search operation was launched, with underwater search teams drafted in from Grampian to scour the Caledonian Canal.
A man's body was discovered by a member of the public in the Muirtown Basin on Friday at around 4.30pm.
Northern Constabulary has now formally identified the body and confirmed it is Mr Porter that was found.
A spokesman said: "There are no suspicious circumstances."
The 33-year-old was reported missing on April 16, four days after he was last heard from.
