Late snowfall in parts of the Highlands has led to an unexpected surge in numbers at a popular outdoors centre.
By the end of February, Cairngorm Mountain Resort had switched to its summer schedule, introducing guided walking tours to the summit.
But this weekend saw snowsports back on the menu, with around 4000 skiers and snowboarders taking to the slopes over Saturday and Sunday.
Resort officials said the demand had been so high that car parks were overflowing by 11am on Sunday, leading to motorists being advised to leave their vehicles at the bottom of the hill and take the regular bus service up to the ski slopes.
A spokesman for Cairngorm Mountain said: "It’s an unexpected bonanza. We had all but given up on the snow and had begun our summer activities. All that’s been put on hold now because the snow has returned.
"It’s a cracker. More blue skies, minimal winds, sunshine and lovely, lovely snow.
“This is as good as it gets. It’s the best it’s been all season and it is a real treat for everyone."
