Police are trying to identify a man whose body was found in a canal in Inverness.
A member of the public raised the alarm at about 4.30pm on Friday after seeing the remains in Muirtown Basin.
Police and coastguard officers, together with British Waterways staff and passers-by worked to
Northern Constabulary said they were making enquiries to identify the person.
A report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal in Inverness.
Muirtown Basin is at the eastern end of the Caledonian Canal, at the point where the canal widens just before it joins the Beauly Firth.
