Nearly 100 jobs are at risk after banking giant HSBC axed its contract with a Highland outsourcing firm.
The banking firm is the only customer for HEROtsc based in Aviemore.
HSBC has now cancelled its contract with the Highland firm, as part of a new strategy to bring call centre posts in-house and cut costs.
The move puts 92 jobs in Aviemore at risk.
The news comes at the same time as HSBC announced the loss of 130 jobs at Scottish call centres - 61 in Edinburgh and 69 in Hamilton.
Dave Thompson, MSP for Skye, Lochaber and Badenoch, says the news is "devastating" for the area.
He said: "For 92 people to be in danger of losing their jobs in a small community like Strathspey and Badenoch is the equivalent of over 4000 people losing jobs in a city like Edinburgh.
"I will work closely with HEROtsc, Highlands and Islands Enterprise (HIE) and the Scottish Government to see if we can help them obtain another contract.
"My sympathies are with those directly affected by these potential redundancies and I will do all I can to help."
