A body found in woodland in Easter Ross is that of missing schoolgirl Moyra-Liz As-Chainey, police have confirmed.

The Tain Royal Academy pupil went missing on Wednesday morning from her home in Edderton, prompting a major police search.

Her body was found in nearby woodland on Friday afternoon.

Northern Constabulary said there were no suspicious circumstances.

Ms As-Chainey was a fifth year pupil and had been due to sit her SQA exams in the summer.

Police said a report would be sent to the procurator fiscal.
