Missing teenager search called off until morning

The search for a missing 16-year-old girl has been called off for the night.

Moyra-Liz As-Chainey, from Edderton, near Tain, was last seen at 8.30am on Wednesday.

Police said on Thursday night that inquiries were continuing into her disappearance, with the search expected to resume tomorrow. Earlier, a RAF helicopter was used to help search for the missing teenager.

Police and search and rescue dogs, 15 members of Dundonnel and Assynt mountain rescue team, ten coastguards and 20 members of Kinloss mountain rescue team were also involved in the search.

Northern Constabulary, who have been looking for the girl since Wednesday, said the search is focusing on the Edderton area of Easter Ross.

Ms As-Chainey is described as about 5ft 7in tall, with long brown hair and green eyes. When last seen she was wearing a navy blue fleece, black leggings and Ugg boots.
