Three people have been taken to hospital following a crash on a Highland road.

Emergency services were called to the A99, three miles south of John O'Groats at around 11.30am on Monday.

The road was closed following the two vehicle accident but one lane has now reopened.

A police spokesman said: "The two drivers and one passenger were taken to Caithness General Hospital, Wick, by road ambulance."
