A lorry fire on the A82 forced the trunk road in the Highlands to close.

The vehicle blaze occurred at around 6am on Monday near to the A830 at Torlundy.

As a result of the fire, the road was closed to motorists in both directions between Fort William and Spean Bridge as emergency services dealt with the incident.

Local diversions were put in place via the B8004 road, however this route was not suitable for HGVs, Traffic Scotland said.

It is not yet known if anyone was injured in the incident, while it is also unclear how long the road will remain closed for.

The A82 is one of the principal routes running from Glasgow to Inverness via Loch Lomond, Glen Coe and Fort William.
