A man has been charged in connection with a graffiti attack on a church in Stornoway.
The 55-year-old man was detained on Friday evening after the graffiti appeared on the Free Church of Scotland in Kenneth Street.
His arrest came after the words "Temple of Evil" were painted on the side of the church in large black letters.
The minister, Reverend Iver Martin, said: "It's very sad."
Church volunteers have worked to remove the graffiti from the side of the church.
The church is thought to have the largest congregation in the country.
