Teenager to be reported over shooting after man critically ill in hospital

A teenager is to be reported to the procurator fiscal following an alleged shooting which has left a man in a serious condition in hospital.

Steven MacBeath, 29, from Rosemarkie on the Black Isle, was allegedly shot in the head with an air weapon.

The incident happened at around 11am on Sunday on Bridge Street, on the outskirts of Rosemarkie.

The joiner was originally taken to Raigmore Hospital in Inverness but later transferred to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary where his family are at his bedside.

Northern Constabulary has said a 17-year-old is to be reported to the procurator fiscal.
