Driver reported over A82 smash that left motorcyclist seriously injured

A car driver has been reported for road traffic offences after colliding with a motorcyclist on the A82.

The 43-year-old man who was driving the motorbike in Argyll on Monday morning has been taken to the Southern General Hospital in Glasgow for treatment to serious leg injuries he sustained in the smash.

Strathclyde Police said the two-vehicle collision occurred near to the village of Bridge of Orchy at around 10.50am on Monday.

Emergency services closed the road in both directions for several hours as they dealt with the crash, before reopening it at around 3pm.

An air ambulance was scrambled to the scene, while the Scottish Ambulance Service had two further crews dealing with the collision.

The police said a 47-year-old woman who was driving the car involved in the collision had been reported to the procurator fiscal for road traffic offences following the smash.
