Helicopter scrambled as two men injured in car collision on A82

Two people have been taken to hospital following a road accident on the A82 near Inverness.

One man was taken by helicopter to Raigmore Hospital in Inverness following the crash with abdominal injuries and a second was taken by road suffering head injuries.

Neither is thought to have life threatening injuries.

The accident happened at around 3.40pm on Friday close to the Dochfour turnoff.

A police spokesman said one of the vehicles had ended up on its roof and a male occupant had sustained “serious injuries”.

A woman and a baby were also examined at the scene by paramedics but were uninjured.

The road is currently blocked and is expected to remain closed for some time.
