A woman who left her remote Highland home to buy a Christmas turkey a month ago has finally returned home.
Kay Ure, 54, left Cape Wrath in Sutherland on December 19 to travel to Inverness but heavy snow prevented her getting back for 30 days.
Her husband John, 57, was left isolated in their cottage above 900ft cliffs in the Lighthouse Keepers cottage where they run a café.
On her return Mrs Ure managed to get 11 miles from home, in Durness, before the extreme weather set in and she has remained there since.
Heavy snow had blocked the road from the lighthouse to Durness preventing Mr Ure from picking his wife up.
Mr Ure was forced to spend his 58th birthday on his own last Sunday as he waited for the thaw to finally set in on Monday.
The pair moved to the UK’s most north-westerly point from Glasgow several years ago before setting up the café last summer.
On Tuesday the couple planned to tuck into their well-overdue turkey dinner.
