A woman has died after a crash on a road in the Highlands.
Claire Macdonald was driving her Renault Clio car when it collided with a Renault Megane on the A82 Inverness to Fort William road at Abriachan.
The 35-year-old, from the Inverness area, died in the incident.
Her family have been informed and a report will be sent to the procurator fiscal.
The passenger of the Clio sustained serious injuries in the incident but the driver of the Megane was not harmed.
The incident took place at 1.39am on Sunday.
Following the crash, police sealed off the stretch of road for seven hours to allow Northern Constabulary’s Road Policing Unit to investigate the scene.
A police spokesperson said: “Northern Constabulary are requesting that anyone who may have witnessed the collision contact them on 01463 715 555.”
