A body has been found by police searching for a vulnerable missing man in the Highlands.

Roderick McClymont was last seen at around 11.50pm near the Royal Hotel in Tain, Highlands.

The 66-year-old suffers from a medical condition and police raised concerns for his well-being.

A Police Scotland spokesman said: "On Tuesday, following a report of a missing person from the Invergordon area, Police Scotland conducted a search for Roderick McClymont who had last been seen in the Tain area on Saturday night.

"At around midday on Tuesday, following ongoing searches, police can confirm that sadly the body of a man has been discovered in the Tain area.

"The man's identity has yet to be officially confirmed but the family of Mr McClymont have been informed of the discovery. No further information is available at this time."
