A 70-mile diversion is in place on the A82 after high winds blew over a van and a lorry.

The incident happened at 9.30am on Monday, shutting the road to all vehicles but cars between Glencoe and Rannoch Moor.

A landslip near Letterfinlay and a garage fire in Appin further disrupted travel on the A82 on Monday morning.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: "A lorry and a van were blown onto their side at around 9.30am and the A82 has been closed to all vehicles except cars. There are no reports of any injuries.

"Diversions are in place between Tyndrum and Ballachulish via Oban."

Meanwhile, a van was blown onto its side on the Cromarty Bridge near Culbokie in Ross and Cromarty.

The A9 bridge was shut in both directions while Police Scotland dealt with the incident.
