The funeral of an RAF pilot killed in a Tornado jet crash off the Scottish coast is to take place in his native Wales.
Flight Lieutenant Hywel Poole, 28, was airlifted from the crash scene following the crash off the north coast but later died of his injuries at Raigmore Hospital in Inverness. He will now be buried on Wednesday, July 18 at Bangor Cathedral, Wales.
Flight Lieutenant Poole had transferred to RAF Lossiemouth in 2011 to train to be a Tornado pilot having previously spent time training as a fast jet pilot at RAF Valley.
Four personnel from RAF Lossiemouth were involved in the incident in which the Tornado GR4s came down in the Moray Firth.
The 28-year-old was serving with the 15 (Reserve) Squadron alongside Squadron Leader Samuel Bailey, 26, and Flight Lieutenant Adam Sanders, 27, who are both still missing and presumed dead.
Meanwhile, the fourth member of the flight crew is recovering from his injuries in Aberdeen.
A Ministry of Defence spokesman said that the man, who has not been named, is in an "improving" condition.
The remains of the GR4-type bombers have been found on the seabed of the MorayFirth at 131ft and 197ft under water, 25 miles south of Wick.
Far Sapphire, an anchor-handling vessel based in the North Sea, is assisting the navy in an operation to lift the jets from the bottom of the sea.
