Island residents are considering a community buyout of Carloway Estate on Lewis.
The 11,400 acres of land the group wants to buy includes the Callanish Standing Stones.
A public meeting was held on Tuesday to see if the community were interested. They voted in favour of the buyout and agreed to set up a group to examine the possibility.
A feasibility study will now be commissioned.
The land also includes Dun Carloway, an Iron Age broch.
Kenny Maclennan said: "There are situations where development may be hindered by having these on the estate, but we to look at that in a positive way so these become an asset to the community as a whole."
