69-year-old French woman airlifted to hospital after mountain fall

A woman has been airlifted to hospital after falling from a mountain in Skye.

The 69-year-old French national was hillwalking with a group before falling 100ft, injuring her back and ankle.

Northern Constabulary were called to deal with the incident at 6pm on Thursday evening.

The force decided the victim required hospital treatment.

She was transferred by HM Coastguard rescue helicopter to Raigmore Hospital in Inverness where she was receiving treatment for her injuries.
