Athletes come out in support of World Hepatitis Day in Glasgow

Volunteers from Hepatitis Scotland were on hand with information and advice at Scotstoun Leisure Centre.

Sporting spirit was in the air as people tried their hand at some Wii Olympics.

Jonathan Ssentamu, African Health Project Worker, was kitted out for the afternoon football tournament.

Caz Dunlop showed her support to World Hepatitis Day.

She was joined by Michael McCann and Charlene McKellar from Quarriers.

One in every 12 balloons of the 150 were red to highlight the international ratio of people affected by hepatitis.

The event aims to raise awareness about people living with hepatitis B and C, and celebrate the work being done by various organisations in the field.

A number of prizes were up for grabs across the seven-stage heptathlon.

Colin Sinclair, from Saltire Thistle FC, was one of the supporters taking part in the football tournament.

150 balloons were released at Scotstoun Leisure centre to mark the beginning of the event.

A round of applause echoed in the sports centre as the crowd watched the balloons be released into the air by Waverley Care&rsquo;s community project manager David Cameron.

Despite the rain, the 200-strong crowd defied the summer showers to enjoy the spectacle.
