EU's Almunia sees political deal on climate

BRUSSELS (Reuters) - World leaders are likely to reach a political deal on fighting climate change when they meet in Copenhagen next month but it may not be very precise, a senior European Union official said on Thursday. "Some kind of political agreement will come out. Unfortunately I am aware ... about a very strong difficulty to transform the political consensus about the need to fight climate change into precise results," EU Economic and Monetary Affairs Commissioner Joaquin Almunia told a seminar.
